Log in and out of TSD

Download Omnissa Horizon Client

If you want to log in through the web browser, you do not need to do these steps. We recommend that you use Omnissa Horizon Client rather than the web browser.

1. Download Omnissa Horizon Client for your type of computer.
2. Open the installation file and follow the instructions to install.
3. When the installation is finished, open Omnissa Horizon Client.
4. Click + and select Add server.
5. Enter view.tsd.usit.no as the server name.

You only need to do this the first time.

How to log in

Before you can log in, you must have set a password and one-time code (OTP) for your account.

1. Open Omnissa Horizon Client
   • If you prefer to log in through the web browser, go to view.tsd.usit.no and continue from step 3.
2. Select view.tsd.usit.no.
3. Enter your username and one-time code (OTP) and click Login.
   • If you get Access Denied, you must set a new OTP.
4. Enter your password and click Login.
5. Double-click the virtual machine (VM) you want to connect to.
   • Windows VMs are labeled with win, and Linux VMs are labeled with rhel. Ask your project administrator if you are unsure which one to use.
   • If you get You are not entitled to use this system, an administrator must first grant you access to the machine.

How to log out

If you only close Omnissa Horizon Client or close the view.tsd.usit.no tab, you will not be logged out of the VM. To avoid using resources when you are not actively working in TSD, and to ensure that the machine is updated, it is recommended that you always log out properly.

Windows VM

1. Click the Start menu in the lower left corner.
2. Click the user icon.
3. Select Sign out.

Linux VM

1. Click the power icon in the upper right corner.
2. Click your name.
3. Select Log Out.
