MN Researchers Secure Grants for Major Research Projects

Our researchers are doing very well in the competition for funding for new research projects from both the Research Council of Norway and the European Research Council (ERC). In addition, Earth and environmental science at UiO rank 3rd in Europe outside UK.

  • Cirlce U. bachelor module receives course development support

    UiO:Life Science has granted 150,000 NOK for the development of the new interdisciplinary course KOS1500 – Bridging Humanities and Medicine for Sustainable Societal Impact – An Introduction to Translational Medical Humanities.

  • Announcement of the UiO innovation funds for researchers

    Are you a researcher with an innovative idea based on your research that can contribute to solving an important need in society, but need funding to develop the idea further? Check the UiO call for innovation funding within all academic fields. The call is aimed at both commercial and non-commercial projects. Application deadline: 1 September 2025.

  • TRUST is one of six new research centres for artificial intelligence

    The Norwegian government has allocated over a billion for AI research. The competition was tough; from over 50 applications, six were selected. TRUST from UiO is one of the six new centers. Many researchers from NJORD and GEO are affiliated with the center and will contribute to TRUST.

  • Million funding from FRIPRO to researchers at the Department of Geosciences

    Two researchers at the Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo, receive funding for their research projects in the groundbreaking research grants - FRIPRO from The Norwegian Research Council, announced on June 10. The competition for FRIPRO grants is as tough as ever.
