MEK5930 – Master's thesis in Fluid Mechanics, 30 ECTS
Course content
A short master thesis corresponds to half a year of full time study and constitutes one quarter of the master study.

There will be an emphasis on physical understanding and mathematical description of phenomena that can be studied partly by numerical computations and simulations, partly by experiments in the laboratory or measurements in the field, and partly by analytical methods.
Admission
The master thesis is a compulsory part of the master program Mechanics and requires admission into this study program.
Teaching
Working with the master thesis you will carry out an independent, time limited research and development project under supervision.
The work on the master's thesis should be completed in one semester. It is not possible to complete a short master's thesis in the first semester of the master's program.
Examination
A master thesis of 30 credits shall be submitted within a deadline. Then there is an oral presentation of the master thesis and an examination.
Language of examination
You may write your examination paper in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
