How to extend a project
- Send us an email at tsd-drift@uio.no with the project number and the new desired end date.
Note: you must have ethical approval from REK or SIKT to extend the project, but we do not need to verify this. We can also extend the project temporarily while you are waiting for a decision.
How to close a project
We send reminder emails when the end date is approaching, but you can also close the project earlier.
- Send us an email at tsd-drift@uio.no with the project number and the desired date for closure and deletion.
Data archiving
Instead of deleting a project, we can also archive it. This means that we keep the data, but members of the project will no longer have access to:
- analyse the data
- log in to the project’s virtual machines
- retrieve the data themselves
The project is only billed for data archiving. If you need to keep access to the project as normal, we can extend the project in the usual way.

How projects are deleted
- We send reminders to the project leader when the end date is approaching or has passed.
- After the end date, project members no longer have access to log in to TSD.
- The project and the backup are permanently deleted three months after the end date, unless we are notified of an extension.
You can still extend the project until the backup has been deleted.
