The main activity within the interdisciplinary initiative UiO:Democracy consists of research on democracy in its many facets, as a form of government and as a practice and way of life. The research groups are central to the initiative's activities and ambitions.
In this round, we are able to fund?four to five research groups, each with a budget of 3-6 million NOK. The deadline for applications is 15 September 2026.
Requirements for the application
- All research groups must be affiliated with at least two different faculties at the University of Oslo, in line with the initiative's interdisciplinary profile.
- Proposed projects must situate themselves in relation to the foundational document of UiO:Democracy. This includes relating to at least one of the five thematic tracks. Read more here.
