All employees at UiO have access using their regular username and password through Feide.
What is in the image archive?
Common Archive
Once logged in, you will have access to the UiO Image Archive. This is the main archive for UiO. In addition, there are three sub-archives called UiO Press Images, UiO Logo, and UiO Buildings. The login and logout options can be found in the upper right corner.
Does your unit need its own archive?
The creation of individual archives will currently be reserved for UiO faculties, NHM, KHM, UB, and other large units that needs their own archive.
If you also have access to your own archive, it will appear alongside the others. Access is granted by each archive's administrator. In principle, the unit archives should share relevant images with the UiO Image Archive. This way, everyone can have access to a large array of images, regardless of whether they have their own archive or not.
Contact bildearkiv@admin.uio.no if your unit wishes to have its own archive. The archive management costs are financed by FELLESADM in addition to an annual contribution from the individual units with their own archive. There is no minimum term for an individual archive agreement.
How to handle consents in the UiO Image Archive
Images and consent forms can be linked and digitally stored within the image archive, while information about use and any restrictions becomes available to users.
In the image archive solution, we have several standard consent forms that can be easily used when you are undertaking a photography assignment. Contact bildearkiv@admin.uio.no to use them.
How to search for images
- Simple search: energy research
- Search for exact phrases: "energy research"
- Search with Boolean expressions: AND, OR, NOT
- Search with an asterisk: Research*– returns hits on Researcher, Researchers, Research etc.
- Search for a year: mt:2020
- Search for a month: mt:2020-02
- Search for a date: mt:2019-02-29
