Europe’s Largest Neuroscience Meeting Held at UiO

Last week, dScience proudly hosted the FENS Regional Meeting 2025 (FRM2025), Europe’s largest regional neuroscience conference. From June 16 to 19, more than 1,050 researchers, students, and professionals from across Europe and beyond gathered at the University of Oslo’s Blindern campus for four full days of scientific exchange and collaboration.

The conference featured 135 presentations and over 600 posters, covering a wide spectrum of topics within neuroscience, with strong representation from computational and data-driven approaches. The event was organised by the Norwegian Neuroscience Society (NNS) together with Nordic Neuroscience and national societies from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland.

This year, we were pleased to welcome several of the world’s leading neuroscientists, who gave keynote lectures and engaged with participants throughout the week.

Highlights included:

  • Edvard I. Moser, Norwegian Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, delivered the opening lecture

  • Nancy Kanwisher, last year’s Kavli Prize winner

  • Terrence Sejnowski, recipient of The Brain Prize 2024

The event opened with a reception at Oslo City Hall, hosted by the City of Oslo. In addition to the scientific sessions, the program included networking opportunities and outreach activities aimed at the broader public.

The crew! Thanks to everyone that contributed making this a well-run and amazing conference!

dScience thanks FENS, the organising committee, the University of Oslo, and all collaborators and sponsors for contributing to the event. Particular thanks go to Marianne Fyhn, Ioanna Sandvig, and Klas Kullander for their roles in coordinating the conference.
