Last week, dScience proudly hosted the FENS Regional Meeting 2025 (FRM2025), Europe¡¯s largest regional neuroscience conference. From June 16 to 19, more than 1,050 researchers, students, and professionals from across Europe and beyond gathered at the University of Oslo¡¯s Blindern campus for four full days of scientific exchange and collaboration.

The Research Council of Norway announced the research environments selected to receive national research centre status for artificial intelligence (AI) at a press conference on 11 June 2025. Among those chosen is TRUST ¨C The Norwegian Centre for Trustworthy AI ¨C which will now receive substantial support to establish a national research centre, with its core located in Oslo Science City. TRUST will be led by the University of Oslo (UiO), SINTEF, and the Norwegian Computing Center, with dScience at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UiO, serving as the host institution.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning approaches are often considered black boxes, i.e. as a type of algorithms that accomplish learning tasks but cannot explain how.
